A collaboration between Dirk Niepoort, his son, Daniel Niepoort, and the young Mosel winemaker, Philipp Kettern. Looking back towards the mineral grandeur of old-style Mosels, Ratzelhaft is a vineyard blend of riesling growing on typical slate vineyards around the Mosel that has been partly fermented in fuders, partly in steel and left to age for a year on fine lees without the addition of sulphur. The result is a masterful balance of power and lightness, purity and precision.
