Thierry Bos is one of the most engaging winemakers we have had the pleasure to meet and we are thrilled to welcome him to our portfolio. His wines are as alive as the gleam in his eyes, and it was love at first taste. His 9 hectare estate is well sited on hillsides above the Garonne in the Entre-deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, an area that has historically been a workhorse but is now finding its identity, especially amongst organic and biodynamic estates such as Bouillerot. This estate is lauded everywhere yet unknown in the UK until now. In reds Cep d'Antan recreates a pre-phylloxera blend of carmenere, malbec and petit verdot without a trace of greenness, while Essentia is a more typical right bank blend of merlot and cabernet franc with lovely balance. The sweet wine from 100% botrytised semillon is a knockout and puts Sauternes to shame, rich in content yet lacking not a shred of zest.
