This impressive blend of nerello mascalese and nerello cappuccio opens on iron, baked earth and crushed rock aromas. The palate is almost bloody which marries beautifully with the light gameynotes and gentle strawberry fruit. There are layers of fine, delicate tannins and a surprising level of complexity emerges after an hour in a decanter. Mercurial and engaging, this is a beautifully alive wine.
