Sagona Gattorosso 2018 Tuscany
Initial biscuitty notes typical of low sulphur winemaking soon blow off to reveal peppery freshness balanced by sour cherry and crisp red fruits. Tannins are present but fine. There is warmth in the freshness, and dark fruit appears on the finish along with spices like clove, and tobacco and dried plum. Made from sangiovese, canaiolo, colorino with just a touch of brett adding funk and chew.
