Champagne Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve NV MAGNUM
One of the pioneers of vinifying and bottling their own Champagne, Camille PŽters was an ambitious grower based in Le Mesnil and amongst the first of the region to break free of early merchant houses such as Bollinger, Mumm, and Joseph Perrier.
In the early 1930s, plucky young Pierre, son of Camille, could be found at exhibitions pouring samples of the family fizz to customers at scarcely 12 years old and, by the end of his 20s, Pierre found himself in charge of some seriously spectacular sites in the C™tes des Blancs.
A blend of the most recent harvest of mainly Mesnil sur Oger fruit with 45% of wine drawn from a solera containing 25 different vintages going back to 1988. Expect acacia flowers, lemon, pear, toast and brioche before a saline finish.
