Comando G Las Iruelas Tinto 2020 Gredos
No one has done more than Dani Landi and Fernando Garcia at cult producer Comando G to revitalise the reputation of garnacha (aka grenache). They have shown that with early harvesting dates, respectful viticiulture, old bush vines and zero new wood, wines can be made with the perfume and compact elegance of pinot noir while still capturing the peppery, garriguey character of their area.
This old bush vine vineyard on slate amounts to one hectare of fruit facing east, and is entirely hemmed in by a forest, giving it a cool microclimate. Smoky, subdued and rather enigmatic at this stage of its life. One bottle per customer.
