Alheit Monument 2021 Franschhoek

Formerly labelled as La Colline, this semillon comes from Franschhoek, a grand cru region for this variety in South Africa. The La Colline vineyard was planted in 1936, maybe earlier, giving grapes of incredible complexity and textural finesse. In 2021 Chris only harvested the upper slopes, hence the change of name. Expect flavours of juicy clementine, lemon, apple and a gentle hint of vanilla, wrapped around a stony core with a twist of green herbs. We reckon this is the best vintage yet of this wine, which has huge ageing potential.
