Muchada Leclapart Univers 2018 Jerez
A stunning wine created through a collaboration of cult Champagne producer David Leclapart with Bodega Muchada in Sanlucar de Barrameda. The vines are all young by Jerezano standards, planted on pure chalky albariza in the Miraflores pago and tended biodynamically and. The final wine is bottled with tiny amounts of sulphur dioxide. Powerful aromas of chamomile mingle with subtle, tangy notes of vin jaune, an apricotty undertow and a slight vermouthiness, which we mean in the most complementary way, allied to subtle saline and sourdough notes that are retained on the finish. A revelation, and a great example of the pioneering dry whites of Jerez that are gaining ground on the fortified sherries.
