Vincent Cirillo Grenache 2020 Barossa

Grenache is finally having its moment in the sun. While often featured only as part of a blend in the southern Rhone valley, where its origins lie, this superb wine, from old vine Barossa valley fruit, displays the variety's charms as a solo performer in dramatic style. Bakewell tart, bay leaf, caramelised red cherries feature in abundance, and this is rich and comforting without being over the top. A terrific example of one of the grapes that Australia has made its own.
