Cathartic Fingers Crossed Mourvedre Rose 2020 Roussillon
The name here refers to the hazard of making wine during the year of the Covid lockdowns, when winemaker Richard Bray was unable to look after the vinification in quite so much detail as usual. Aged in oak with the wine spending a bit longer in barrel than previous vintages, this is a big, mouthfilling rose, gastronomic and spicy with a hint of honey and smooth, ripe strawberry fruit. It's ideal with robust Mediterranean food, seafood grills and paella, and pretty much anything with lashings of aioli.
