Pedro Parra is one of the wine world's luminaries, soil consultant to many of the grand and famous estates of Burgundy, Napa, Priorat, Tuscany and elsewhere. Grown near his hometown of Concepcion, his winemaking is entirely personal, with brilliantly inventive and delicious examples of pais, a long forgotten grape variety of the Spanish colonisers, as well as cinsaut.
Bright aromatics of cherry, raspberry, cranberry, rosehips, and a gently smoky character come first, followed by juicy, pure red fruit and more tannins than typical from pais to add friendly grip. Give it a light chill and taste some of the best wine coming out of Chile's southern territory, from ancient 120 year old vines.
