Cantina Marilina Ruversa Nero d Avola Elora 2018 Sicily

Tucked away in the south eastern corner of Sicily, in the San Lorenzo district, you find this small family run vineyard and winery, where they are making the wine in exactly the same way it was being made 100 years ago by their great-grandmother. Fermented and aged in cement tanks, this is a very traditional and rustic style of Nero d'Avola. The smell reminds of a combination of hot terracotta pots and tomato plants, there is also this wonderful tang of tamarind and pomegranate molasses on the finish.
