Domaine Rois Mages Rully Plante Moraine 2018 Cote Chalonnaise Burgundy
A beautifully made chardonnay, expressive of the slightly warmer climate of southern Burgundy. Ripe Yellow apples and peaches mingle harmoniously with pastry notes that come from lees stirring every 15 days. The oak is perfectly balanced after 12 months maturing in a mixture of new and old barrels (10% new).
At £32 it's not exactly cheap, but it would certainly give the far more expensive wines from it's northerly neighbour, the Cote de Beaune, a run for their money.
