Ariousios Winery is based on the Greek island of Chios, a few miles from Turkey's western shore. Renowned in antiquity for wine, this mountainous landscape with cooling sea breezes and views out over the Aegean provides an ideal climate for viticulture. Greek Islands Assyrtiko is a Chian incarnation of the legendary white grape of Santorini and it has bags of character. Green olive, scrub herbs like wild sage and a stony, salty core make it a perfect wine for seafood. Grilled bream would be a pleasure.
