Grand Chemin Viognier Le Faillet 2021
Due north of Montpellier the AOC of Duche d'Uzes is part of the Rhone region, but goes under the recognition of the vast Pay d'Oc IGP. The sun drenched days and cool nights here create an optimum climate for viticulture and for the last 300 years the Floutier family has run Domaine Grand Chemin, making wines that sing of terroir and tradition.
This admirably restrained viognier from the eastern Languedoc avoids the heaviness that can be a problem with this grape so far south, and focusses on the bright apricot and jasmine perfume that viognier does so well. A delightful white for a summer salad or a grilled fish.
