A bargainous red with an attractive amount of bottle age, this is made from monastrell (also known as mourvedre or mataro) and garnacha, with a splash of local tintorera. The flavour is smoky and rich - but without the use of any oak - with a pleasing, woodsy warmth with plenty of ripe, fresh red fruits underneath. Bring out your chorizo stew!
