Spain Old And New - 6 bottles
It’s a love affair that goes on for us, and gets deeper each year.
The lovely and misunderstood gamay lived for too long in the shadow of some seriously dubious Beaujolais nouveau until thoughtful winemakers learned to love this productive, high acid grape, by slashing yields, reviving the best terroirs, and turning to organic farming and low tech winemaking.
Gamay is a breath of fresh air with its juicy cherry and raspberry fruit and is able to transmit the nuances of the granite soils it prefers to grow in.
There has never been a better time for gamay and Beaujolais to take their turn in the spotlight.
