Nestled near the Dordogne just south of Libourne, the Roskam-Brunot family are producing outstanding terroir-driven wines. This Merlot dominant right-banker is boosted by wonderful Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grown on gravel soils to give richness, fine mineral tannins and dark fruit character. Just a touch of sweet vanilla and tobacco spice keep you reaching for your glass. 2016 is a fine vintage, perhaps the 2nd best of the past 10 years, so this will drink well now with a decant or keep improving.
