On the high planes of North East Portugal, Beira Interior is a dramatic, arid, little explored region where old vines can produce great wine. A blend of Tinta Roriz and Jaen, aka Tempranillo and Mencia, this is rich but well structured and a must try for lovers of Rioja, Toro and Ribera del Duero.
