The Finger Lakes region of New York state is home to some of the best American reds you've never heard of. Red Hook winery is based in Brooklyn, NYC, but the fruit for this wine comes from upstate at Seneca Lake. The nose is beautifully perfumed with wild berry fruit and a touch of sage, and the tannins are ripe and fine. A must-try wine for lovers of fine Loire cab franc such as Chinon, Bourgeuil and Saumur Champigny.
