Henschke Mount Edelstone 2017 Eden Valley Barossa

The Mt Edelstone vineyard was in fact the original vineyard of the Henschke estate and is one of the jewels in the crown of Australian winemaking. The flavour is stunning - pure, ripe and detailed with ample blackberry fruit, sage, cured meats, eucalyptus, dried thyme and bay leaf, with mouthfilling, velvetty tannins and a finish of dark cocoa powder. Irresistible now, but will make it to 2050 and beyond if you can wait.
