La Guardiense Janare Alfabeto Fiano del Sannio 2022 Campania

La Guardiense is a co-operative of growers located in Sannio DOP, around Benevento north of Naples. It was started in 1960 by 33 local farmers and now encompasses 1,000 smallholders in the region. The Janare wines are the perfect introduction to the varietal personalities of Campania's main players, and all wines are made using native yeasts. Fiano is a a compellingly fresh white grape variety, reminiscent in some ways of assyrtiko, with a fine acidity and firm fruit. Think lemons, grapefruit and lime, ripe but fresh. This is superb value, perfect with some cod loins roasted with red peppers and garlic.
