Castillo Perelada Le Roi Baudouin Et Dona Fabiola 2018 Emporda

This full-bodied Catalan red was chosen for the wedding day of King Baudouin of Belgium and Fabiola de Mora y Aragon of Spain on December 15th 1960 and still proudly bears the same commemorative label. This latest vintage has dark dried cherry with balsamic notes in close pursuit. A fine lattice web of cumin, star anise, clove, and black pepper enfold the fruit, thanks to 20 months in Bordeaux barrels, with a 50/50 split of French and American oak and then time to mature in bottle before release. A bold sumptuous wine that will do ample justice to all sorts of grilled meat from the barbecue.
