Terra Firma, Sicily

Every year Michael Palij MW spends a week in Sicily tasting through dozens of tank samples to decide on the blends that compose these wines.  For him, the goal is to produce wines that are honest, balanced and drinkable and which, as he puts it “capture the best of Italy”.  Highlighting two of the island's indigenous grape varieties, Michael balances the hearty flavours of the lower-lying, warmer vineyards near Pachino in the south with grapes from the cooler mountainous vineyards in the North of the island, near Palermo.
