Most nero d'avola is grown on the warm, flat plains of southern Sicily where it results in a broad, boozy, spicy red of immediate appeal. This is from old vines planted at altitude, giving a distinctly floral lift and a beautiful crunch and snap to the black cherry fruit. A nero d'avola for Central Otago pinot noir lovers? We adore it.
