Thorne and Daughters Rocking Horse 2021 Western Cape
John Seccombe trained at Plumpton here in the UK, before going on to make some of the most arresting and complete white blends of the new wave Cape winemakers. We cannot praise his wines highly enough, specially if you can get hold of the superb 2021 vintage. All the wines are named after traditional children's toys and Rocking Horse, his first ever cuvee, is a blend of roussanne, chardonnay, chenin blanc and semillon. This is a supremely sophisticated wine with gentle notes of vanilla, honeysuckle and pear and red apple allied to one of the most luxurious textures of any white wine we've come across.
