Vignoble Guillaume Flute Enchantee Magnum: 20th Anniversary Label Franche Comte
A traditional method sparkling wine, this uses the same grape varieties as Champagne - chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier - grown on clay and chalk soils near the town of Charcenne. It is made in exactly the same way as Champagne and has an average of two years ageing in the bottle on the lees, which is more than certain expensive non-vintage wines from Champagne. As there is no designation for cremant within Franche-Comte, this is not officially labelled as one, but fits the bill perfectly. This is an exceptionally good value wine with true richness and depth of flavour.
