Pios Tinto Magnum 2017 Douro Superior

Technically a reserva, this wine is foot trodden, and spends 18 months in French oak of different ages and from different coopers. A dense, smoky wine showing mature and youthful characteristics simultaneously. Offers a rather grand feel for incredible value, and its focus and lack of sweetness give a touch of austerity that is very appealing.
