A wine geek's rose if ever there was one, this is a rose with serious personality. A tiny production, Gianni Lonetti, tends his vineyard like a garden, and the Gaglioppo grapes he grows there transport you straight to the the rugged hills of Calabria. Deep copper coloured, the attack is vivid with stored toffee apple and a touch of tannin, tapering to a long salty finish. A must try for those who remember Tondonia Rosado or Economou rose.
