Opulent and aromatic, the nose is full of the sweet spice, rose, and lychee, which are the signature of Gewurztraminer, but without any of the cloying bath-bomb notes one sometimes finds. Rich and powerful with an oily texture and a baroque sweetness, there is a certain flamboyance which makes the wine very gastronomic. A classic pairing for local dishes like foie gras or quenelles, this also works remarkably well with spicy middle-eastern and Asian cuisine.
