Domaine Plaisance Penavayre Classique Rouge 2021 Villaudric Fronton South West France

We love south west France. The wines from here have a real sense of place and are made with grapes that are on the large part unique to the region This wine from Fronton is a great find. a blend of local variety Negrette with a tough of Syrah and Cabernet Franc. This is full of red and black berries, damsons with hints of Rosehip, chinotto and a touch of Scandinavian bitter liquorish and pine resin to give it a freshness. It tastes a little like if chef Mark Hicks had made a Rosehip, Campari and black cherry jelly for grown ups! Lovely with rich and earthy dishes
