If Bordeaux estates had personalities, Leoville Barton would be the tweed jacketed country gentleman quietly sitting in the corner. A beautifully evolved St-Julien from one of Medoc's most consistant estates. Built around Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc in support, it offers cigar box, cassis and lots of leather. After 30 years this once muscular youngster has relaxed into something much more elegant and complex.
