Mersel Wine Phoenix Merwah Field Blend 2021/2022 Lebanon

At Mersel Wine, Eddie and Michelle Chami are very much keeping alive the ancient winemaking traditions of Lebanon (which was once home to the Phoenicians), including to have brought back to life some long-untended vineyards in the UNESCO World Heritage site and Mediterranean alpine region of Wadi Qannoubine. A blend of Sangiovese and 150-year-old indigenous Merwah grapes, this dark pink / light red wine is full of juicy cherries with a dusting of grapefruit zest and a dry pomegranate bite to finish. Eminently quaffable, especially when paired with Mediterranean fare.
