Igavi Wines Vintners and Vagabonds Aidan Raferty Aladasturi 2022 Imereti

Imereti in central-west Georgia has a diverse and magical landscape full of green and rocky valleys, rivers, and waterfalls. A world away from his original roots in Australia and New Zealand, it is here that Aidan Raferty tends a small, organic vineyard. In this bottle are hand-harvested, deep-blue Aladasturi grapes from vines of up to 40 years old. Produced in a natural, low intervention style, the result is an eminently pale red wine which bursts with dark flowers, earthy red berries, and a pinch of peppery spice. Aidan named his wine label Igavi after a poignent Georgian folklore, and the artwork on each of his bottles is a nod to this mythos. So go on, be transported, be inspired.
