Orgo Saperavi 2021 Khaketi

Gogi Dakishvili is a leading light in Georgian wine and this brilliant Saperavi from his own vineyards shows why he is in such demand as a consultant to other wineries as well. The nose is rich and wild combining creamy plum and mulberry fruit with something feral and meaty, but the palate shows remarkable delicacy with fine tannins, crisp structure and real purity. A far cry from the rusticity of many Georgian wines without compromising its identity, this would be great with slow cooked lamb shoulder.
